Scott started practicing yoga around 2013 as a way to combat chronic back
issues. Finding the practice beneficial for both body and mind, he decided to
apply for a 200 hr YTT just to go deeper but never intending to teach. A part of
all training is the required practicum, which Scott convinced his current
employer to let him teach yoga to employees that are interested. That class is still currently continues every week. Wanting to go deeper still Scott
enrolled in a 500 hr YTT at Moon Dog Yoga in Quakertown PA. This training,
in conjunction with the Himalayan Institute in Honesdale, PA was completed in April, 2021. Other certificates in Yin yoga, Mindful Strength, and Thai yoga massage have been obtained over the years. Scott's other passions and hobbies include playing drums for the local original band Under Fallen Skies, mountain biking whenever he can, hiking when it’s too wet to bike, camping in his hammock, home cooking and experimenting in the kitchen, native
landscaping and gardening.
My yoga journey began over 6 years ago with Yin yoga. After a few months, I branched out into Hatha and Iyengar yoga. I fell in love with the practice because I loved the way I could come and practice and not worry about what everyone else was doing. I found strength and confidence that I never knew I could even have. I love these styles of yoga because they give me the opportunity to go deep within and feel how my body reacts, where I can change when something doesn’t feel right or if it is an off day.
In 2021, I decided to take Teacher Training because I wanted to the opportunity to give someone else the same feelings and experiences I receive from yoga. I have been instructing for almost 2 years at various studios, as well as online and with individuals privately. I continue to strengthen my knowledge of yoga by taking courses such as a Yin Yoga training.
Yoga has given me the chance to truly find myself and it is my hope that my instruction will help you find your confident and happiest self.
Chris completed his RYT 200 training at Yoga on York in 2018. He is Yoga Alliance registered and has over 300 hours teaching experience. He is a certified Livestrong Trainer and Silver Sneaker Yoga teacher with a commitment to physical and mental development.
My yoga practice started in my early 20’s when my triathlon coach recommended it as part of my training and recovery. At the time, I probably got a little more flexible but had no idea the way it would slowly and begrudgingly change my relationship to stillness. I’ve been a lifelong student of the body and mind earning my masters in Exercise Physiology and always learning new physical practices and modalities. In 2021 I completed my 200 hour YTT in Hawaii with Deborah Koehn and my Children's YTT with Courtney Hart of Therefore I Learn. My teaching style varies based on my mood but tends to incorporate music, include some playful exploration, and invite you to connect to your own inner knowing.
Elaine took her 10-year love of Barre to the next level, completing her Barre Above Instructor training program in June 2022, following the suggestion of one of her instructors. She is enthusiastic about health, well-being, and sharing with others. When not teaching, she enjoys Barre classes on a regular basis, in addition to yoga, Pilates, and walking. She has a heart for instructing and learning more ways to make classes beneficial and enjoyable.
