Emotional Alchemy Qigong

Are you ready to break free from emotional overwhelm?

Did you ever wonder why you find yourself feeling emotionally overwhelmed? Like you can't help how you feel even though you know logically that the feeling is not in proportion to the actual triggering event? Emotions from the past are stored in the actual cells, tissues, and organs of your body. When this happens every new emotional reaction is compounded with all of the trapped emotions of the past. These trapped emotions can cause strain on the mental, emotional, and physical self.

The ancient art of Qigong helps to release these emotions while restoring energy, supporting proper physical function, and building resiliency in the present. In this series, Kimber fuses carefully chosen physical movements from a variety of Qigong practices with guided meditation, meridian tapping, and Qigong Sound Healing (that you will perform yourself!) to release trapped emotions and balance the meridians.

Build awareness of your energy field and how to protect it, learn meditative techniques to keep you balanced, and restore the vitality that emotional chaos exhausts from your body. In just 6 hours of practice, you will gain knowledge and tools to help you transform your experience for a lifetime.

Suitable for all levels of strength and fitness. All movements are adaptable to meet your needs.

Mindfulness Workshop

 Mindfulness Workshop with Phyllis Trout

90 minutes/ $25 per person

“Between the stimulus and the response, there is a space. In that space lies our freedom and power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and freedom.”    Victor Frankl

Mindfulness is bringing awareness to the present moment, how it is, how we are right now. Paying attention to our experience this way allows us to respond rather than react. It is a quality of inner-stillness that is always available, even when our life or circumstances feel out of our control and chaotic. We spend a lot of time developing our intelligence in school, and strengthening our bodies through sports or exercise but we give our mind very little attention. In fact, where do you think your mind even is? Most of us aren’t exactly sure. When we develop and study our mind we are increasing our ability to focus on, recognize, and manage our emotions, make better decisions, and empathize in all of our relationships.

In this workshop we will learn some basic mindfulness practices. We will practice using the breath, body, and sound as anchors for our attention. Our five senses are the portals to our becoming grounded in the present moment, to becoming more awake and aware.

Please come at the beginning of time so we can settle together.

Event Shines Light on Post Traumatic Stress, Yoga for Veterans
Veterans Yoga Project to rally venues across the country to raise PTS awareness, funds for yoga programs that support resiliency among veterans and families

New Park, PA -- Yoga venues across the country are mobilizing for the Sixth Annual Veterans Yoga Project Gratitude Week.

Hundreds of teachers will host classes November 8-18, 2019 to thank veterans for their service to the country. The week-long event is designed to call attention to trauma-related conditions and the power of yoga as a tool for healing. Donation-based classes will raise funds for yoga programs for veterans and their families in the communities where funds are raised.

“I’ve witnessed firsthand how important a consistent yoga and meditation practice is for veterans dealing with Post Traumatic Stress (PTS),” said Dr. Daniel Libby, a clinical psychologist and Executive Director of the Veterans Yoga Project. “The success we have seen is the reason we are on a mission to bring yoga to all veterans.”

More than 2 million American veterans are struggling with these PTS symptoms and an average of 20 American veterans commit suicide each day. The downward spiral that begins with physiological dysfunction leads to overwhelming symptoms, difficulty managing everyday stressors, “burned bridges,” and significant legal, medical, and financial difficulties.

Launched in 2011, Veterans Yoga Project works in partnership with veterans, active-duty military personnel, student veteran organizations, and non-profit organizations. Veterans Yoga Project-trained instructors teach more than 100 free yoga classes each week for veterans and their families around the country and Germany.

“The skills and the connections fostered in our programs support the evolution from post-traumatic stress to post-traumatic growth for veterans with whom we work,” Libby said.

Veterans Gratitude Week launched in 2014 with 96 classes in 25 states. Last year, 500 classes were taught across all 50 states. The week-long fundraising event has raised more than $326,000 in the last five years. This year, Veterans Yoga Project has a fundraising goal of $100,000 through 600 classes across all 50 states.

“Participating in Veterans Gratitude Week is more than just thanking a veteran for their service,” Libby said. “It’s a tangible way to give back to those who have sacrificed in service of our country.”

Veterans Yoga Project invites yoga teachers, studios and other venues to host or teach a class during VGW2019. Yoga studios and teachers looking to participate can sign up here. Once registered, participating studios will receive an information packet and their class will be listed on a searchable class database on Veterans Gratitude Week.

About Veterans Yoga Project: An IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) charitable organization, Veterans Yoga Project’s mission is to support recovery and resilience in the lives of our veterans, families and communities.

3rd Sunday Sound Meditation

Join Stacy Hammel for an afternoon of energy and sound resonance. Through use of crystal bowls, bells and other implements of sound we will explore the gift of meditation within the waves.
The power of sound to heal the body has been in use for centuries. The body can literally heal itself when exposed to sound frequencies. When our energetic body is in harmony we allow the deepest and smallest cells to find less resistance to balance.
Sound is integral to the reduction of stress and reconnecting our minds with our bodies and the universe. Bring a mat or cushion and blanket to assist you in your practice, and keep you in comfort.
